Easier to get 170?

Easier to get 170?

According to Mr. Weismann, the decrease in the amount of pre-law students receiving 170's and the inability of law schools to deflate medians is going to make it easier to get a 170. Is this true? *Crossing fingers*

That's not what the article says at all. Law schools can and already have deflated LSAT medians.

But doesn't the curve eventually have to budge if fewer and fewer people are scoring in this range/taking the LSAT?

Does anyone honestly know 100% how the LSAT curve works. I'm doubtful even the LSAC knows how it works.

Isn't that all speculation though?

You're misunderstanding the article. It's not saying that a lower percentage of takers are *scoring* 170+, it's saying that fewer people with those scores are *applying to law school*.

The changes in LSAT percentiles have actually been pretty small. There is simply a growing percentage of 170+ scorers who are saying "Nope - still not gonna go to law school".
