This Fall I will be a Senior at Rutgers- New Brunswick (GPA: 3.82, Puerto Rican). I will be taking the October LSAT since I have decided that I am not ready to take the June LSAT. My LSAT practice test scores have ranged between 150 to 155, and I have taken the Kaplan prep course already. This summer I will be working on campus job around 22 hours a week. However, I have also secured an internship at the Federal District Court in Newark in the Office of the Court Clerk and will work two 8 hour days.
I noticed my schedule seems a bit full and that I need to study for the LSAT to raise my score significantly if I would like to attend a top law school. However, I am not sure I should forgo the opportunity at the District Court in Newark.
Opinions? Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT 1:
I have already decided I would like to go to law school in 2015 and do not want to put it off. The internship may sound good/unique but it won't lead toward any sort of employment, the internship is unpaid, and it does not reimburse travel cost. To be honest, I don't trust myself with such a packed schedule, about 40 hours of work, to have the time and energy to then sit down and study.

It's not even close. Destroy the LSAT.

Do you want to attend school in 2015 and not any time later ? IMHO work experience trumps any test score. I would suggest you to take the internship and make a decision on LSAT later. You may decide that law is not your cup of tea.acr440 wrote:This Fall I will be a Senior at Rutgers- New Brunswick (GPA: 3.82, Puerto Rican). This is patently false. But his overall advice is sound: law school isn't going anywhere. You don't need to take the LSAT now if it means you're going to have to give up something you want to do and will be beneficial for you.AbhiJ wrote: IMHO work experience trumps any test score.

Take the internship and continue to study for the LSAT. If your score isn't where you want it to be by September, put it off. As previously mentioned, law school isn't going anywhere. Additionally, that internship sounds unique - especially if you get to do something other than empty waste baskets.

^^ agreed.
you'll still only be working 38 hours a week. there's plenty of time left in the week - you'll just have to exercise a bit of discipline.
