Consistently struggling with the opening section of pt's

Post by CincinnatusND » Mon May 19, 2014 1:37 pm

It seems like regardless of what type of section my prep-tests open with I consistently do poorly on them. In the past 6 full, timed pt's I've taken, my lowest sectional score has always been on the first section. And normally it's pronouncedly lower.

Has anyone had similar experiences? Can anyone provide tips for starting out stronger?

I typically do 7 questions of some type before every PT as a warm-up already. Maybe I should do more, and do the same on test day?

Feeling kind of discouraged.

Are you doing these in the morning?

I would go for a short run. Shower. Enjoy the workout endorphins. Hit the PT.

I've been taking them at noon, but I typically wake up at 10:30/11:00, so I think maybe that's my problem. I woke up earlier today, so I'll try exercising and eating breakfast and lunch before getting started and see if that helps any.

I generally felt slow and dull on my first section. I alleviate this by doing about 10 LR Questions and 2 games. Since the actual test is five sections, try doing a full section from a previous PT before taking a new one.

If that's your problem, then just get a used PT and take a section out of there for warmup. I actually brought a LG section with me on my last LSAT. Ripped through it just to warm up.
