How to best use 3 weeks of pure prep
Hi all,
So my school's semester just ended and I took work off so I have three weeks that I can devote completely undisturbed to preparing for the June LSAT.
I started with a 156 on my cold diagnostic back in February (I only got about 10 questions right on that test). Since then I've been using the LSAT trainer + 10 new actuals as my main tool, along with the PS LG bible. I'm just about done with the bible (haven't done the rechallenge section at the end of the book). In the LSAT trainer I have one more full LG section to go before the book goes on to the rest of the LR and RC lessons and full sections.
Basically, most of the prep i've done so far has been in LG, in which I've done about 7 or 8 full timed sections. I'd say my average in LG is about -5 still (I only got -0 once and that was on PT 63). My main weakness is when I come across a game or even just a part of the game that I'm not comfortable/familiar with, and it throws me off my rhythm. I'll take too long on setup, forget what I'm supposed to do, etc., and it slows me down for the rest of the section.
For LR I've done most of the LR lessons in the Trainer, but haven't really done the full sections yet. On the only PT where I did do two full LR sections, I got -4 and -5. I think timing is one of my weaknesses, as I remember for that PT I had to rush towards the last couple questions for the section and ended up getting some of them wrong.
For RC I've done two full sections and I got -2 and -4. I have somewhat of a timing issue on RC but my main weakness is when I come across a passage that is in the science/math fields where I'm not familiar with the topic, and I spend too much time reading or staying on track.
So yeah, my plan was to just finish out the trainer and hit the PTs + review, but I wanted to see if anyone had ideas for how I might more effectively use these three weeks. I'm a little bit scared of going into the PTs with my current status in LG because I feel like I'm missing something. I'd say im at about a 162-165 ish right now on average, what should I do to get to 170+ comfortably by June 9th?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. I also have the manhattan LR book and all the LSAC released compilation PT books.

If you only have three weeks and you're still going -5 on LG, then concentrate on LG.
Your best option is to withdraw and sit for the September test when you're more prepared.

I started thinking about that too. Would I have to withdraw for it to be off my LSAC record, or can I cancel the day before/just not show up day of?d cooper wrote:If you only have three weeks and you're still going -5 on LG, then concentrate on LG.

You can reschedule via LSAC as long as it's not past the postponement deadline (check and see). This doesn't affect your record at all, and you won't have to pay LSAC for the next test.stephcurry wrote:I started thinking about that too. Withdrawing the night before (which you can do up until midnight the night before the test) will require you to pay for the next test when you sign up for it.
I'm not sure what the consequences for not showing up are, but I'd imagine it's better to simply postpone or withdraw.

Thanks, I'll be sure to double check what all the options are. I'm going to try and go HAM these three weeks though (I literally have no other obligations) and see where I end up. I definitely won't sit though if I don't feel 100% confident I can score where I want to scored cooper wrote:You can reschedule via LSAC as long as it's not past the postponement deadline (check and see). I think you can hit 170 in 3 weeks if you focus on LG. I went from 152 diagnostic to 17X in a month. I did a full test every morning and reviewed my mistakes at night. Make sure you review the wrong answers!

Maybe try PMing Jeffort for advice - he seems to be the guru around these parts.

Be sure to exhaust search results from here. Lots of people have been in your situation before.
Also, you got a nice jump shot.
