Tutors

Post by InPursuitOfaPassion » Thu Apr 10, 2014 12:46 am

Can anyone recommend what prep company to go to for a good tutor? I need guidance on structuring my studying. I feel like a person who is trying to get in shape, goes to the gym, but has no idea where to expend energy in order to progress and do it efficiently.

I wouldn't go to a prep company unless they forego the requirement to pay an absurd amount up front. Most private tutors who are good will only require payment a session at a time. Companies like powerscore and Kaplan require more than $1000 up front and a minimum commitment of several sessions for tutoring services, and the only guarantee is that they will get your money before giving you any help.

If you're not married to the idea of meeting in person, there are a wealth of private tutors who peruse these forums, and you can also search websites like tutorselect and craigslist. All you need to do is be sure that they are willing to provide you with their IRR (Item Response Report) which is an official LSAC document proving their score and when they took the LSAT.

Hope this helps.
