I have been trying out some ways to improve LR and I came across this phrase that some great test-takers habituate. I have been trying to pay closer attention to the stimulus by internalizing the argument more and not being so worried about spending 1 minute to absorb it if it means finding the correct answer in 10 seconds as opposed to 50. I want to know if you guys agree with this mantra and what you do to habituate it, if you use it yourself.

It's definitely true that slowing down and taking time to deconstruct the argument (or set up the game, or mark up a reading comprehension passage) saves you time in the long run. For many question types, if you'd done the up-front work properly, the correct answer will be immediately recognizable.

Rushing slows you down, for sure.

You can never go wrong for fully understanding the argument. I would endorse your approach especially for the first 15 questions or so. But for the last 10 questions (16-20 particularlly), I would give myself more time on delving into tempting answers.
