In Search of an LSAT Tutor via Skype/In-Person ~Richmond,VA~

Post by MDJ2588 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 11:22 pm

I would like to hire an LSAT tutor for approximately 1-2x a week, for an hour each session. If anyone is interested, please provide some form of credentials to validate your experience as an LSAT Tutor. Of coarse you'll be financially compensated for your time, but I will negotiate the terms on a individual basis.

Also, if by any coincidence someone resides within the RVA Area, and has sufficient credentials, this would be an optimal choice for me.

My goal is to discuss specific areas of weakness, and utilize various effective strategies in order to further assist me in my PrepWork.

Also, one hour sessions aren't a thing.

I do apologize, I am not really familiar with the semantics of online/in-person LSAT Tutoring....depending on individual accreditations I will negotiate a price, if you would like to pm we can talk more in depth

You know no one accredits LSAT instructors right?

Also, you'd get more offers if you didn't sound like WAY more trouble than it'd be worth.

What do you mean? I do plenty of one hour sessions.

But yes, take notes, OP and anyone looking for a tutor. The way this request is phrased makes it sounds like OP doesn't know why he should have a tutor. I actively turn requests like this away. There's plenty of good ways to study on your own. If you're speaking to me, you should have some specific things you want help with. And typically you don't negotiate terms with instructors, anymore than you'd negotiate a lawyers fee. If an instructor is any good, they're busy, and have a standard rate, which is usually pretty high.

Which brings up back around to having a good reason to be talking to a tutor in the first place. A tutor is not who you speak to in order to teach you everything about the test (unless you have a rather large budget). But a few sessions with a good tutor will help you troubleshoot. You need to be prepared personally though. If you just say "help!", there's not much I can do for you in an hour, which is why I redirect that sort of request to The LSAT Trainer, 7Sage, and forums.
