LSAT Trainer worth it?
Hey, I just took the Feb test and didn't feel great so I will most likely be retaking in June or Sep. My PT range was 162-171 with my last 5 test average being 166/167. My goal is 165+.
I am pretty consistent in RC and LR but LG can go from -0 to -7 depending on the test, I just suck on some games idk why. My question is do you think that the LSAT trainer would be worth investing in. I don't have much money and can barely afford to retake so it has to be worth it. Thanks a lot TLS

What was your breakdown average for each of those sections?
It is well worth the $40, imho, for LR and RC. For LG, it is good, but there are many good LG programs out there, some of which are free.

I was going -6/-8 on RC with an occasional -2 or -10 here and there (very rare) and -4/-6 on LR.
RC has been a terrible struggle for me

if i didnt absolutely wreck the game i went on 7sage. because even if i got a games sections done -0. ping has a better way to do it. it is pretty incredible really. but the trainer takes an approach to games that really helped me. drills and such. it also parallels with 7sage closely.

I'll input using honorary bro status, and I often sound like a broken record about it, but yolo.90convoy wrote:thevuch wrote:trainer is the shit bro. id give you mine but ive answered all the questions done all the drills. and it made me a -0 games guy. that and 7sage. it is the best lsat prep book you can buy. more bang for your buck than anything else by far

I watch the 7sage explanation for any game I don't go -0 on, in a fairly quick amount of time. (Hard to say exactly what this time should be, but if you have any major pauses). Then I save copies of the games to retake later, again and again.

THIS is really good advice too. even if youve done the games section once, put it aside for 3 days then do it again. if youre averaging 165esque with possible -7s i mean you could be doing a lot better. LG needs to be automatic. you can put yourself in the 175 range it sounds like if you can clean up LG

Thanks again! I will take all of this info into account and start implementing it after we get Feb. scores back.

I've criticized it in the past, but I think it's a good book for those who can benefit from it--and those who can jive with its organization of material. I like Mike, and I think he did a tremendous job with MLSAT LR, but this book just wasn't for me.

Re: LSAT Trainer worth it?
Absolutely. I went from making low ~160's on my first few practice tests to a 170 on my most recent after only a month and a half of studying the Trainer. If you follow one of the study schedules you will have incredible results in developing a full understanding for how the test works. Mike seems to stress seeing 'the big picture' of the test and The LSAT Trainer teaches you how to do just that.

IMO, the trainer is actually too good of a buy for what it cost. Could probably double the price of the book and it still would be well worth it.

Re: LSAT Trainer worth it?
totally agree. It was the best resource I used for LR and RC. I read through the LG stuff but I was already consistently scoring -0 or -1 on timed LG sectionsClyde Frog wrote:IMO, the trainer is actually too good of a buy for what it cost.
