Out of curiosity, for those of you out there that scored significantly below what you expected compared to PTs, was it the kind of situation where you knew during/immediately after that you had performed below par? Or was it a total shock when you received your score?
I took the test yesterday morning and, though I feel alright about it (not my best, not my worst, I averaged around 171 on ~20 PTs), I wonder how many others felt alright about their first LSAT and then ended up with a rude surprise for a score.

I'm also wondering this, though of course it's not practically useful or anything. Specifically, are there a lot of people who score highly on PTs, feel good about the actual test during and after, and then end up with a significant drop from their PT averages? Or do most people who experience the big test day drop know it as they're taking the test?

Re: underperforming on first lsat?
I had taken roughly 35 PTs, averaging 170-172 with a range of 154-180 going into my test. The two weeks prior, my PT average was 172. Went into Oct. '13 test, spent the writing time figuring out about how many I figured I'd missed, my guess was -14. Went -14 for a 168.
I wouldn't say it was underperforming, necessarily. I did my average on LG, overperformed on RC, underperformed on LR. I knew I had done near my average, but figured -14 just based on what questions I guessed on, and which ones were an educated guess, etc.
