Re: Score Cancel - Low High Low
If I were you and felt certain my third score would be lower than my second, I would cancel. 170 is a great score, and in my opinion following it with a mediocre one would seriously tarnish it. I don't think the admissions people who review your file would automatically assume something negative about you from a score report showing 160-170-cancel. You could have been ill, you could have had a bubbling mishap, whatever. However, 160-170-160 might make someone scratch their head and wonder if the second score was a total fluke. FWIW, I cancelled my October score for a similar reason.

Ok thanks for the response.
Does anyone know how difficult it is to get a school to allow a 4th retake by request / exception?

It's now impossible, schools are no longer allowed to grant exceptions to the three takes in two years limit. LSAC changed the policy so only they have the discretion to grant exceptions now. So far from anecdotal reports it appears that LSAC has been consistently denying most requests for an exception. It appears their view of what constitutes extraordinary circumstances is a pretty high bar to satisfy. I don't remember seeing anyone post here about successfully getting LSAC to grant an exception since the policy changed. Maybe somebody has succeeded, but nobody has posted about it here yet and it's been more than a year since the policy changed.jstep wrote:Ok thanks for the response.

We've officially had an exception!Jeffort wrote:It's now impossible, schools are no longer allowed to grant exceptions to the three takes in two years limit. This is second-hand from me to you - I personally spoke with the person granted the exception. They had a chronic health issue of which they were not aware (they were aware of the symptoms, but not the cause). It was then diagnosed and fixed; they applied and were granted the exception.
