Obligatory Retake Thread
First take 168 in Oct. GPA is 3.92. Goals are small law and/or criminal law with no interest in big law but have a moderate interest in a clerkship. I'm from New England and am inclined to stay. The way I see it, if I retake, it's for the $$$. I guess the important question is: how much money can I potentially save at the mid/lower t14 with a score between 170-172? The scholarship info on myLSN is too vague to make any strong conclusions. PT avg was around 171/172 and scored between 175-178 on retakes. LR was my bane on test day despite it being my strong suit going into the test (-9 on test day with a typical -1/-5 overall range going in).

Dude, retake, there's no reason to settle just because you'd be OK staying in NE. You're really telling me you wouldn't go to H if you had the chance? I was in a very similar situation to you. -4/-5 total average on LR and I got -11 on test day in June. That was literally the worst I've ever done on LR the whole time practicing. I've had a -5 or two here and there, but that would be balanced by a -0 or -1 on the other LR. A -6? Never. In June I got -6, and -5. I ended up with a 168 as well, but I knew I could do better. It was an anomaly, my PT average was higher, and LR was my most comfortable section when practicing. I retook in October, did nearly identical on LG/RC, and improved 5 points on LR.
If you know you can do better, retake.

Re: Obligatory Retake Thread
I just wanted to say that I feel you... I am pretty much in the exact same boat, having bombed LR unexpectedly. I've registered for Dec but I'm questioning if I just have it in me. I have to re-work my work schedule and everything, and amass all the prep material... and it's proving very stressful after one-month of relatively low-stress days.

Definitely retake.
With a 173+ you have a shot at H

Re: Obligatory Retake Thread
Thanks guys. I have registered to retake. Though I am extremely debt averse and so H may be off the table even if I improve a few points. I'm mainly retaking for more money at the mid and lower t14.
