Diagnostic

Post by seawulf » Sat Sep 21, 2013 5:44 pm

Hey everyone, wanted to ask a quick question based on my diagnostic. I sat for my initial diagnostic in an lsat class the other day, without doing much practice yet except looking over the logic games bible off and on. The score came out as follows:

October 2010 Lsat
LR: -8
LG: -12
RC: -4
For a total of 77/101 and a 161.

Now, I'm planning on eventually taking either the February or June lsat, with an aim towards some of the top schools. Do you think it would it be possible to improve the score to that level (170+) between now and then? Just wanted to check and see what you thought, based on your own experience. Thanks!

This. And 100% yes. Like you my diag was on Oct 2010. Got a 163 with missing 9 on LG, 10 on LR and 2 on RC. For the past 2-3 weeks every PT I've taken has been 172-173 (uncanny really how it hasn't varied up or down from there)

Within a month or so you will have games down to at least only -2 and well on your way to -0. Games are very learnable and just require learning the strategies and then tons of repetition. That alone will basically get you near or at 170. LR is also very learnable and you can easily get down from -8 if that's your starting point.

One thing I will warn you on is to not neglect the RC. -4 is a good starting point and it can make it easy to push it off as it seems like "well clearly I can read so I am fine." But don't fall for that. On my diag I got -2 on RC. Now I am busting my ass to keep an average of -3 or -4 on RC and it is by far my weakest section despite it being my best section by score at first. I have not once since my diag hit -2 again and I did ignore it for a large part of my early studying which I now regret.

Long story short, put in work especially on games and you will be easily hitting 170+.
