It's not an "or" situation. Use test 1-38 or so for drilling and use 39-62 (?) for timed.

both.

exams cover the test taking part of practice whereas drilling covers specific sections, types of questions, etc.

Drilling to understand test.
Prep tests untill you score where you want consistently.
Periodic drilling targeting weak areas in prep tests.

Everyone learns the test differently, OP.

I already came into the test acing LG because of the spatial knowledge I had from my engineering background. I was very weak in LR and RC. I drilled LR by type using the Cambridge packets. Then I moved to one and then two consecutive sections of LR. I would alternate drilling RC sections and drilling LR sections. Then I combined the two sections and drilled three section PTs. Then towards the last month of my prep I drilled 3-4 full PTs a week. HTH
