Is it "normal" to BOMB the Prep Test C (June2000)? Forum

Wow..
I just took the PT C (June 2000) (timed)
and I was not even able to finish the LG section within the 35 time limit.
I had 2 minutes left when I was about to do the last game.
So I gave myself extra 5 minutes just to finish the LG section for the sake of it, but still I ended up getting -6.
My head is just blank right now.
I have been studying for several months for the LSAT and will take the LSAT for the first time in Feb 2013, but I feel SO DISCOURAGED.
Am I the only one feeling this way after doing PT C?
Are PT C's LG and current LG comparable in terms of difficulty level?
God I feel so bad..

It's been more than 2 months since I've done PT C. I scored pretty well on it, primarily thanks to the curve. I went -4 on the games. The games weren't necessarily hard, but they were time consuming. I wouldn't say going -6 is "bombing" the games...but having only 2 minutes left for the last game just means you are still weak in games and have yet to hone down your timing for it. You have to see the inferences asap to go through the questions quickly; inferences and just understanding the rules of the game will help you go through the game much quickly.

this is pretty anecdotal, but I did noticeably worse than my PT average on Prep Test C a week before the Dec 2012 test. Not even the amazing curve saved me on that one. It's a weird kind of test.

Lol. Prep test C had like a 15 point curve. It was a tough test. Shake it off and move on.

Yeah. Everyone has this happen. I still remember, 2 years later now, how bad the LG was.

I think that the reason they dont do really hard tests anymore is because for some people there comes a point where you mentally give up a bit. If you know you're sucking wind, its hard to do your best. Its hard to equate for that.

I think I scored in the 160s on two of the superprep tests.

On one of the games there is a prominently featured "exclusive or" conditional, which I had not worked with before. Destroyed me. Find what slowed you down so much and learn how to deal with it. Turn weaknesses to strength. Come test day I was hoping for an "exclusive or."
