Take the December test or withdraw?

Post by crazi4law » Thu Nov 29, 2012 5:00 pm

I've been PTing in the high 160s, with a couple in the low 170s. I'm applying for the next cycle but would like to get the LSAT over with.

My GPA is ~3.55, non-URM, and I am aiming for CCN and H, so I know I will need at least a score in the mid 170s. I'm almost certain that I am going to retake the test in February to get a score closer to 176, but should I take the test this Saturday just to try it out? Might it hurt my chances for H if I end up getting a score in the high 160s only? (P.S. I'm moving so it will be a different test center if I retake it.)

Thanks

I don't think you'll get any better advice than what you've already gotten.

Postpone. H might take your average LSAT, and with your GPA you can't afford less than 176 to have a snowball's chance there. Even then you're going to need outstanding softs as a non-URM.

Harvard averages? From looking at posts on this site, I thought only S and Y genuinely consider all of your scores.

I am planning to study hard and try to get a ~177 in February, but would there be any significant cons to taking it this time as well?
