Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
So guys, in 145 days from right about now we will all be leaving our test centers, shocked that we completed LG with time left, that RC wasn't toooo bad, and that LR seemed alright. We will, in almost exactly 145 days from now, probably log on to TLS and confirm what section was experimental. And then.... off to the liquor (or vice of choice) stores.

(Whoever becomes) the regulars in this thread should meet up for a drink or two in two years or so. Any bar suggestions in the New Haven or Cambridge area?Daily_Double wrote:I'm excited to see an eight as the second digit of my score.weathercoins wrote:So guys, in 145 days from right about now we will all be leaving our test centers, shocked that we completed LG with time left, that RC wasn't toooo bad, and that LR seemed alright. So I tried turning my iPhone background to HLS, but couldn't find any nice or standout pictures. Yale on the other hand, has a great picture of the building, even though I know I won't end up there.rebexness wrote:How many here have a countdown clock running?weathercoins wrote:So guys, in 145 days from right about now we will all be leaving our test centers, shocked that we completed LG with time left, that RC wasn't toooo bad, and that LR seemed alright. Mine has a HLS background. For motivation or for something to laugh at, depending on the day.

I have a sub-3.0 from a sTTTTate school so I can't even think about any of that stuff. Just focusing on the score.

Your background should be a good résumé superimposed over a picture of Northwestern.objection_your_honor wrote:I have a sub-3.0 from a sTTTTate school so I can't even think about any of that stuff. Just focusing on the score.

Good news on this front. Drilling does the trick.leshachikha wrote:I'm in this boat too. Either I get all the inferences I'm supposed to and go -0...in 12 minutes on a simple game. Or I speed as fast as I can and end up in deep water with the last question or two per game.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:Any advice on how to increase speed? Going over by about 3-7 minutes per game I go -0 just about every time. But that time is killing me. Thanks!
I was getting pissed at going 9-13 minutes consistently, but happy I was going -0 every time. Turns out I was just being impatient after doing a grand total of 6/7 LG games.
Keep drilling and the time just goes down eventually. I've done like 8 LG games in the last two days and the time just vanished.
Best of luck.

I'm still grinding through games, trying to get my times down while still going -0. I think my prep is going to get a LOT easier once I move on to LR and RC.
I am noticing something weird, though - doing logic games is giving me an actual headache. I don't know if I'm subconsciously tensing up, not breathing right, hunching over or what. I'm also at "that age" where my near vision is starting to get a little fuzzy, so that might have something to do with it. But at the distance between my eyes and the paper, things still look clearer without my reading glasses than with them, so I don't know what to do about it.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Hey all,
I wanted to check back in and offer up a suggestion.
In terms of my own studies, I have begun to go over LR fundamentals (using the Manhattan guide and Velocity LR book) and completed a couple of the Cambridge LR packets (Main Point/Sufficient Assumption). Thankfully it appears that I have not lost too ground since the last time I prepped. I know that many of us are at different points in of prep/drilling, but I would love to set up review schedule for the Cambridge LR packets with those who are interested. Just give me a PM if this applies to you.
And now the suggestion:
I know in the past Manhattan LSAT has set up a free, online study rooms for TLS users. These "rooms" were essentially an online platform where students could go over questions together and occasionally a Manhattan LSAT instructor would lead a study session. This resource was a huge asset last year and I imagine it would be helpful this time around. I helped to organize it last year, but, due to work commitments, I'm unable to do it this time around. If someone is willing to take the lead on setting this up, Noah from Manhattan would be the one to contact. His contact information is on the Manhattan LSAT website and he often posts on TLS.
Get at me if you have any questions.

Yo I really need to SLOW down and read the LG rules.
And
STOP playing Madden. I spend 2 hours everyday playing that game.
Does anyone know of a motivational thread on TLS?

Lol, I have UVA in the Fall with the multi-colored leaves as my background. I've been sick and my studying suffered. Despite a fever I did four LG yesterday and went -0.My fever just broke so I'm going to break out the books and do what I can before it comes back.

I have HLS as my laptop and iPhone background... considering printing a copy of McDonald's service counter to remind myself of what could be if I don't study as well.rebexness wrote:How many here have a countdown clock running?weathercoins wrote:So guys, in 145 days from right about now we will all be leaving our test centers, shocked that we completed LG with time left, that RC wasn't toooo bad, and that LR seemed alright. Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I am considering taking about a 4-5 day hiatus from LSAT prep because I have a debate tournament this weekend and the LSAT won't be the top thing on my mind. I suppose that taking a short break is better than putting in 50% effort and barely taking in what I'm doing and learning little. I've been putting in 3-6 hours everyday so far, but I don't want breaks like this to become a habit. Do you guys think I should take this break?

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Just did a set of mixed assumption questions - 17/20 right. Not too pleased but glad to know I'm getting a grasp of these type of questions. Also happy to realize that my speed in answering these questions are improving.
Now onto some strengthen/weaken drills! I have class later tonight and am looking forward to reviewing the topics that will be discussed/practiced.
