Adcom's view on retakes after submission Forum

So I I was PT'ing around the 171 mark and hit 169 on the real test. Somehow managed to go -6 on RC which torpedoed me from the get-go.

If I apply to schools now with my 169 will they see my additional score if I somehow score worse or will they only reopen my file if I submit an addendum?

Also, would it hurt my chances to take and do worse or is it just a free shot?

Pretty conflicted about what to do here...

GPA is a 3.6 so wanting to bump the score.

^This. Except that I fucked up and did worse. 166, 3.70. Will retake in December but 166 is a pretty competitive score for UW, where I can get in-state tuition, live with my parents, and keep the students I tutor for cash on the side, which will reduce the CoA pretty significantly.
