Hi guys i'm really stumped on this conditional here. Answer choice E (which is correct) says
only campers at Camp Winnehatchee are students at Tri-Cities High School.
now my lsat brain tells me the conditional is TCHS -> CW because the only modifies the necessary condition.
but my other part of the brain is arguing, if the only campers at Camp Winn are folks from TCHS, wouldn't CW -> TCHS be correct too? Pls correct my brain.. Thanks.

It's the first one, because that's part of the mistaken reversal the Speaker makes.
Had the speaker made the 2nd statement, it wouldn't be a flawed argument.

doesn't the "only campers at Camp Winn", that only modifies the word campers which is referring to TCHS? meaning TCHS is the necessary and Camp Winn is the sufficient?

only = necessary conditionlonglivetheking wrote:doesn't the "only campers at Camp Winn", that only modifies the word campers which is referring to TCHS? meaning TCHS is the necessary and Camp Winn is the sufficient?
the only = sufficient condition
Ann: Campers at Camp W ---> go to Tri City HS
Bill: You are wrong. Some Tri City HS --> Campers at Camp L
Assumes: Tri City HS ---> Campers at Camp W
