FEBRUARY 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Thought I'd get the ball rolling early on for the Feb 2013 test date. I started my prep a month ago so I'd love accountability / communication with others for the next 4 months or so. I'm doing a hybrid study attack of TLS1776 and PithyPike's guides. Good luck to any others prepping for 2.9.13! PS I apologize if this thread already exists- I searched for it and didn't find it.

Doesn't exist, probably because most people don't take the Feb. test because it is undisclosed (you wont know what questions you got wrong and will never see the questions again after taking the test). Also, it's usually too late to apply for the following Fall (but not important if you don't plan to apply for that cycle).

Oh okay. Yeah I knew it was definitely the least popular for the two reasons you mentioned; but I guess I figured there would still be a decent bit of people sitting for it. I guess the traffic might pick up after the Oct/Dec tests.

Could it easier to get a high score on the February test because fewer high-scorers sit for that exam?

The LSAT is not curved - it's equated:Partially Deaf wrote:Could it easier to get a high score on the February test because fewer high-scorers sit for that exam?

Hate that it exists because it's so early or hate that it exists because it may be a necessary evil for people who don't perform well in Oct/Dec?

If the Feb thread up, the October test is 8 days away. The Feb thread is up, therefore the October test is 8 days away.
Seriously though, good luck to all of you on this bad boy.

If A, then B. A, therefore B.
There's no gap between the premise and conclusion. The argument core is sound. Perhaps an assumption question?
The argument assumes which of the following:
A) If the Feb thread is not up, then the October test is not 8 days away.
B) The October test is 8 days away, therefore the Feb thread is up.
C) The October test is 4 days away, therefore the Feb thread is up.
D) If the October test is not 8 days away, the Feb thread is not up.
E) The October test is 8 days away, there is no god.
Does the contrapositive count as an assumption? If it's false, then the argument falls apart. Must be D. Could be E though...
I'm with noodley. I hate that this is up. Although, if I don't do well in December or if I take the coward's route again, I'm immediately starting the June thread. OP, why not June? If you have to wait till the next cycle, I would think June to be the better choice.

If there's no gap, there's no assumption. Hit the books again!

I haven't ruled out June yet. It's more or less a back up option that'd I'd like to have in case Feb doesn't go well. I had though about taking the June test and using Oct as a back up, but my schedule next fall wouldn't be conducive to studying too much. My Jan/Feb and May/June are much more open than my Sept/Oct would be.powder wrote:If A, then B. A, therefore B.

I think you're right but I seem to remember a question where the answer was essentially the contrapositive. Now I want to go back and check to see if my brain is playing LR tricks on me. LOL. Is it sad that LR is getting to the point of enjoyment?NoodleyOne wrote:If there's no gap, there's no assumption. Hit the books again!
Makes sense strider. My June schedule is more open than my Feb. schedule, although next October would be a bad time for me if I have to burn the third test.

Re: FEBRUARY 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
I recently found out you can retake the LSAT, regardless of taking it your 3 times, 2 years after your first attempt. For this reason, I am considering a retake in February to potentially leverage some scholarship money. I took a February LSAT some odd years ago and ridiculously under performed. Now I have some sort of bad feeling about the February test... as if it is unlucky or something. Someone tell me I'm crazy!

Long time lurker here, although I hate to say it, I have a bad feeling that I'll end up here after I get my October results back. My scores have just been sucking shit lately
