3rd Edition Manhattan LSAT Guides – Advanced Readers Wanted

Post by Manhattan LSAT Noah » Wed Sep 19, 2012 5:36 pm

Hello! We’re excited to (almost) announce that the 3rd edition of our books are out. They’ll be hitting the shelves in about a month. The LR and RC guides haven’t changed much except for getting some deep cleaning/editing, but the LG has been bulked up quite a bit. I’d love to find 10 TLSers that would be interested in getting the book in exchange for sending us their unbiased review. PM me to throw your hat into the ring. We’ll choose folks based on whether:

1. You’re going to take the LSAT (Dec. preferable)
2. You are an active member of the TLS community
3. You’ve read our books before/have not (we actually want to hear what both think)
4. Also, so it’s not a burden on the folks that handle shipping, please make sure you have an account on our site with your proper mailing address (if you don't have an account, make one here https://www.manhattanlsat.com/createaccount.cfm, if you do have one but didn't put the address, go to your profile and add that)

Really glad the LG has bulked up! Need as much work as possible on LG, and Manhattan Prep is the bomb. Question: I assume you have some new example games on there...are they drawn from old LSAT's or constructed by the company? I ask because while it's nice to have good analysis of official material, it does compromise the LG sections of several prep tests.

The book has 35 games, 10 of which we wrote. We kept the book in line with our course, which keeps 53-66 off limits. The games in the book pull a couple games from 51-52, and then most of the rest come from the 20s and 30s. We make it clear which game we're throwing at you, so you can always skip it, and wait to do it in a full pt, then read our explanation. But, a lot of the new bulk is from drills we've written ourselves--not full games, but set-up drills, inference drills, framing drills, fire drills, etc. We actually had to throw some parts of those drills online as the book's size made it start getting green and angry. We also have included solutions to every game from PT40-66.

And, by the way, I'm so glad to be part of the bomb. Beyond stroking my LSAT geek pride, you have subtly affirmed my longstanding belief that my rap name should be T-bomb.

How noble of BP to want to help another prep company. Usually, companies want to kill each other *cough**cough* Testmasters *cough*, but look at BP, willing to help others in order to increase the overall quality of prep books, even if in this case it's for Manhattan.

I've used up the publishing crew's good will and have no more books to send out. Apologies and thanks to a bunch of people that volunteered that I have not responded to. I'll ask marketing to put together a deep discount code for y'all.

By the way, a bunch of you mentioned in your pms you had recently bought our books--when the new edition drops (yes, just like a new CD drops, that's how cool LSAT prep guys are), the company does a pretty generous swap program for folks that purchased within the last two months. Well, really not a swap, because you don't send in your old one, you just have to show a receipt.

What if we bought the books before the 2 months cutoff but are willing trade in our old books?

You'll have to smooth talk the office like you've never smooth-talked someone before. I recommend reading up on the staff bios and working in random references that lead to those magical connections -- oh my gosh, you like world cup soccer too?!

So, for everyone that offered to help but I didn't reply to, the office gave me a discount code: TYTLS12 It knocks off 30% of the LG book price and only works until Nov. 10. Thanks again and apologies about the short advanced supply.

Did I hear 30% off on all three? That would be more appealing to people who went to Harlem, and to those who loved their mathematics class at North Star.

So is the new RC book out? I'm looking to purchase it but would want to make sure I have the newest. Also, I just recently purchased the RL and LG books... are those updated?

hey Noah:

went to the corp website, but could not find the 3rd edition in the Store. Are there some magic words that will get me into the inner sanctum?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
