Re: October rapidly approaching...need advice
As of right now I think it would be better for you to switch test dates to December because you are already doing well in the section that is the hardest to improve (RC). It seems like a waste to take it in October because it doesn't seem like you are fully prepared right now and don't have enough time.
Don't worry about improving LG by 10 points. It is very doable and just takes practice. The most important thing is to just drill games and eventually you will see your mistakes drop. Getting a perfect score in LG is very doable especially if you wait till December. I myself started out at -13 in LG and am now at -0 to -2. Waiting will definitely be worth it if you can push your score in the 170's.
What is your GPA by the way?

I think I may take it in October and if I know that I did well, and there is only one LG section, I will keep the score. If there are two LG or I know that I did badly, I'll cancel. The nice thing about LG is it is very easy to tell when you got them right and when you got them wrong. And I am very steady with my other scores so I don't feel the need to worry about them.lilhugsy24 wrote:As of right now I think it would be better for you to switch test dates to December because you are already doing well in the section that is the hardest to improve (RC). But why would you want to waste one of your three takes when you haven't reached your full potential? You can definitely improve that LG score if you just take the time.
Right now you are at
LR: -11
LG:-15
RC: -2
Total: -28
You can easily take 13 off that by drilling LG and probably take another 5 off LR by drilling that more.
LR:-6
LG:-2
RC:-2
Total: -10
Which leaves with a you with a -10, which will pretty much always get you in the 170 range. I just don't think its right decision for you to take it in October currently. You have a pretty solid GPA. Don't settle for a score on such a learnable test.
I know you may not want to hear it, but you can always wait till next cycle if you have to. It's just seems too risky ITE to go any non-T14 school.

It honestly takes a week to learn games.
If you are -3 RC and -11 LR, you should spend the next 3 weeks getting LG down and enjoying your mid-high 160.

You should take in December. LG is the easiest place to improve but you need some time. You might get everything figured out in the next 3 weeks but I don't think its worth it at all. Stick to your studying for another 2 months and take in december.

Exactly. This is why you'll soon find out that games is the section where you shouldn't miss any. Do every single game at least once and you will get there.ironbmike wrote:The nice thing about LG is it is very easy to tell when you got them right and when you got them wrong.

Ok, I rescheduled for December. Hopefully it won't hurt my applications too much and I can raise my score. Thanks all!
