Taboo topic: Easy LSAT?
Hello everyone,
I was researching about the lsat and I noticed a couple blog posts talking about how December LSAT allows you to miss more questions for a 170+ than the other exams and that June LSAT has the harshest threshold for missed questions compared with the other exams.
Just fyi, before people accuse me of trying to cut the corners, I am most likely taking the June 2013 lsat exam.
Just wanted to get your thoughts on the matter.

There is so many alternate causes aside from the test being easier that I can think of. You probably can too.ampm wrote:Hello everyone,

Anyways, good luck in June. I think it is a good time to take the test. And also remember why LSAT has the "S" in it.

I'm sorry, but I don't think you're understanding the reason behind why you can miss more questions to get a 170+ on one test compared to another.ampm wrote:Hello everyone,

If one was scoring a 170 consistently, this person would/should score near a 170 regardless if the threshold was -8 or -12. The reason being is because the tests are created in a way to make the score band (a given range of a score; + or - X number of points that relates to a person's ability) of a test similar to that of other tests, regardless of the difficulty of that specific test.
In short, the test you take does not matter; you should score within your score band. The only test that could offer you some resistance to taking is the February test, since that test is undisclosed.
Good luck!

Everyone I know who took the test in December and again in June scored higher on the June test and also said it was somewhat easier. So, maybe there is some truth to this.

Or just more time to study and get familiar with the test.Cerebro wrote:ampm wrote:Hello everyone,

Lol, I know your statement was prefaced with "maybe", but you were on the brink of establishing causation from correlation.Cerebro wrote:Nothing gets past you...relevantfactor wrote:Or just more time to study and get familiar with the test.Cerebro wrote:ampm wrote:Hello everyone,

The tests are equalized, they are all the same, give or take a bit of randomness.

That honestly made me lol. The LSAT turns some people into logical Nazis...nmop_apisdn wrote:

Interesting. Thanks for the input guys!
Yea, I'm more constrained because of work/class issues so June LSAT it is.

Yes. I can't remember why I said that now that you point it out. Some bad joke.tomwatts wrote:To stand for the word "school"? Huh?relevantfactor wrote:And also remember why LSAT has the "S" in it.

If anything i'd assume a more lenient curve would mean a more difficult exam if you eat ham with your uncle Sam. What do you think, OP? Too close to home?

Yea makes sense. This is one of those cases where we should just focus on becoming the better test taker rather than cut corners.Joeshan520 wrote:If anything i'd assume a more lenient curve would mean a more difficult exam if you eat ham with your uncle Sam. LOL I read it and didn't get it at all, but figured it was typical over-my-head TLS speak / humor.relevantfactor wrote:Yes. I can't remember why I said that now that you point it out.
