Go all in or wait a year?

Post by OhMyDayum » Tue Aug 21, 2012 1:06 pm

Due to various things that came up in life/ some procrastination, I only started to prep for the October LSAT this week. I scored a 163 on my first simulated test, -6 on combined LR, -8 LG, -1 RC. I know the logic games are easily improvable (with practice, compared to other sections) but I think I got lucky on a bunch of the LR; is it a good idea to go all out from here til October 6th if I'm aiming for a 175-180? Or is that too little time? I know it's probably doable but I'm wondering because I could also just take a year off at this point and take my time with it. Thoughts? I was going to complete the Powerscore LG Bible, LR book, and 40 practice tests by October.

Edit: the 163 was with 0 prior prep*

It's possible, but you have to put in the time. Keep PTing and see where you're at. If you don't feel ready, you can always cancel before the test and take the December LSAT. Good luck!

Going all in and waiting a year are not mutually exclusive. If you had all your other app stuff lined up, you could apply after taking the Dec LSAT. But since procrastination is the issue, I'm guessing you don't have LORs, PS, etc done yet.

Regardless:

1. All in on Oct LSAT.
2. If you're not averaging a good number (177, let's say) on your PTs, postpone to Dec.
3. Apply ASAP, or in Sept 2013
