Preptest 52, Section 1 #14

Post by applemaroon » Mon Aug 20, 2012 9:32 pm

Hi guys, can someone help me out and explain why C is the correct answer (None of the answers really jumped out at me so I chose E because it seemed the most likely...)? Thanks!

Hypothesis: studying increases a student's chances of earning a higher grade.

Those at the top of the class are likely gifted. They dont need to study as much.
Those who arent as smart probably wouldnt be at the top no matter how much they study.

Answer: studying more improves students grades.
solves that discrepancy.

Yall should edit out the question. We arent supposed to post them.
