Flaw Question Help!
I was on a roll with flaw questions and just missed an easy one. I know I can't post the question verbatim but can someone please explain to me problem below?
X: You are more likely to win the lottery when the money pot is small because that is when the fewest other people are playing.
The answer states that the flaw is that X holds that chances of winning lottery are affected by the number of other people playing.
How is that a flaw? Wouldn't the number of other people playing do affect her chances? If only 2 people played, she has a 50-50 shot as opposed to 100 people playing.

Re: Flaw Question Help!
In this question, that's not how the lottery works. You win only if you pick the five numbers that happen to be drawn, rather than a name-drawn-out-of-a-hat scenario. That means it's possible for no one to win (which is mentioned in the stimulus). There's a finite number of combinations of 5 numbers (I'm not a math major, so let's call it X) and your chances of winning are always 1/X, no matter how many people are playing. The number of other people playing doesn't matter.
For future reference, you can post the section, question #, and PT # even if you can't retype the whole question. I happened to remember this question, but a lot of people have a decent number of PTs and chances are a lot will be able to flip to that question and help you with it.

I am SO FREAKING DOWN, especially if I end up having to retake. Can we start a lemonade stand too? Always wanted to run one of thoseVasaVasori wrote:I think all the June test takers should get together and publish a book of LSAT answer explanations.
Then we can pool the money and use it to pay for law school.
