Enough Time To Start Studying for LSAT?
I planned on studying May 1-the October LSAT, however I ended up deciding to take two summer classes at my college to boost my GPA (which worked two A's).
I have since signed up for 20 hours of private tutoring with Powerscore which begins on July 7. Will this give me enough time to study, I am beginning today on my own and will start tutoring soon. My goal is to score high in the 160's.
Should I take the test in October or wait till June so I can have a year to study?
Thanks!!
Note: I have all three powerscore bibles as well as several other powerscore books that came with my tutoring package

Tough to say. 3 months is often plenty for some people. It took me 9 months before I was ready. Just wait til early-mid September to see where you are PT'ing and the decision should be pretty easy.

Thats true, I have a significant amount of time to dedicate from now until the end of august as well until I go back to college then it gets a little more difficult

That's plenty of time. Also, your goal should be a 180. No need to limit yourself.

There is a decent chance you wont be peaking in 3 months, especially if you're still in school. You really shouldn't rush prep, considering this exam is more important than 4 years of undergrad combined.
If you are near your peak, you should give Oct a shot, and if you are not satisfied with the result, retake in Dec. If you are not satisfied with your cycle, retake for the final time next June.

Have you taken a diagnostic test yet? If so, what were the results?
4 months is generally enough time, but some people benefit from a longer study schedule (those who see constant gains instead of a quick increase followed by a plateau). It really depends on from where you're starting.

I haven't taken a full practice test yet, however have done some practice questions. The main issue for me is that I am getting 20 hours of private tutoring this summer so taking it in December or June I am almost worried I would forget a lot of it, especially considering I am a full time college student.
