LSAT ID

Post by illegalalienfrommars » Sun Jun 10, 2012 6:28 pm

LSAT tomorrow and today I realized that my latest passport is with an embassy for visa stamping!. I have an older passport that has not expired(expiring in 2015) though there is a small stamp that says canceled.
Would it work? I do not have any other form of ID. Any suggestions would be appreciated... I have scanned versions of my newer passport which I can potentially take along.

Take the canceled passport and the copy of the newer one, and hope they accept it. What other choice do you have at this point?

I know I used an expired passport as ID at the US/Canada border for a while before the last requirement change.

Was the one that says canceled taken within the last 6 months? I don't think they allow any pictures older than 6 months; that being said, I'd bring both just in case.

ID is separate from the required photo. Your ID can be older than 6 months; otherwise we all would have had to go get new drivers licenses.

The other choice is to skip this LSAT (cancel registration before 12midnight today) and take the Oct.. it would be a shame as I have spent countless hours preparing for June.

Go and try to get in. If they don't let you in, I think it would be a no-show on your record, and you can write an addendum about it later.

I think it would be dumb to not even try.

no-show will reflect negatively on my application, correct?

are they relatively lax about ID requirements? Given that the passport has not yet expired (it still has old visas that I use, albeit in conjunction with my new passport) should make it a valid ID. my signature, photo, DOB etc will all match.

From my admission ticket:

Check your ID: "Is it current (or has expired within 90 days of your test)?"

I think that, seeing as it hasn't even expired, you'll be ok. They just seem to want to have something to make sure you're you. Hope it works out! They'd be silly not to let you in

thanks. my only concern is that there is a small "canceled" stamp. I wish I had another ID.
