Yeah, I am in the same boat, and I am probably going to postpone it tomorrow...

Um, from what I hear it's pretty common to DROP a few points from your PT average, and really rare to improve. If this wasn't your third retake I would say go for it, but if you're serious about getting into the best law school you can get into, I would DEFINITELY say wait for Oct. The LSAT is learnable, albeit slow going, and I don't think you should take any chances based only off of "going nuts" if you don't take it. If there was ACTUALLY a reason that you couldn't take it in Oct, I might advise differently, but from what you've told us it doesn't seem like there is...

I read your title not as "can't push to October" but "don't want to push to October." There isn't really a reason to take the test if you've never scored at or above your goal before. You won't magically do better on the test. In all reality you'll do worse. Push the test to October. I did last year and I'm very happy about it.

Push back. As people above have already said, if you aren't consistently hitting your target score, then there's it is extremely unlikely that you will on test day. More realistically, you'll probably drop a few points from your average score due to test day pressures and whatnot.
For the next few months, study your ass off and you'll be fine.

Re: Anyone want to push the June LSAT to October but can't?
Take it if you want. My scores go down on June tests because of the curve and I'm scoring much higher than you. You're just trying to find any excuse to take it. If you can't find a reason other than "I don't want to study for another 3 months" then you're being pretty dumb.boblawlob wrote:The thing though is my June PT scores have been pretty good (168, 168, 166). I feel like easier questions could work to my benefit more than harder questions and a easier curve.
Or am I just talking crazy?

Yeah but the thing about it is, is that you're going to score around where you're scoring bar some magical luck. A person who can score a 170 on the test in June would have probably scored 170 on the October test. There's a reason for the curve that I think you might not understand.boblawlob wrote:Yeah what I meant was June test tends to have harsher curve which mean easier questions as opposed to like the December test where the curve is more generous but the questions can be brutal.nmop_apisdn wrote:boblawlob wrote:The thing though is my June PT scores have been pretty good (168, 168, 166). Dude. You're relying on "questions being easier/better curve" (which is not even a real thing since its equated for difficulty) when you have no idea what the curve will be.
Take it in October. I've been studying for June since October and I've decided to push it back so that I can spend more time with the test.
Good luck in your decision!
