Sleeping Well Before the LSAT
Do you think it's critical to success on the LSAT? I've been going to sleep at 4a.m. and waking up 1. Should I start going to sleep at like 11 or something?

Your sleep cycle isn't important so long as you get enough sleep. So going to bed at 4am is fine if you wake up at, say, 12pm and have enough time to get to your test center. Don't study all night unless that has been a proven strategy for you. I would recommend you do whatever you normally do before a PT, but you must get good rest, or else you'll feel like sand is in your eyes by the time you get to the 4th section. Good luck.

I also am in the habit of going to bed round 3-4 am. My brain also works much better after I've been awake for several hours. This is a pain when tests are given in the morning. What I did: go to sleep at like 8 PM using nyquill, melatonin, w/e; wake up at like 4-5; brain is actually turned on when exam time rolls around. I aimed to begin sleeping at 8 because I figured it might take an hour or so to drift off.

What time is the test? Sorry i didn't look. I know that some are morning and some are afternoon. If the former, your sleep cycle will be problematic and you will need some sleep aid.

I'm fairly sure every test but the June one is administered in the morning, I could be wrong though.marlo45 wrote:What time is the test? Sorry i didn't look. I know that some are morning and some are afternoon. If the former, your sleep cycle will be problematic and you will need some sleep aid.

Correct. On my admission ticket it says to be there no later than 12:30 PM, hopefully we get that puppy rolling by 1. Literally, I hope we start rolling puppies by 1.buckilaw wrote:I'm fairly sure every test but the June one is administered in the morning, I could be wrong though.marlo45 wrote:What time is the test? Definitely shooting for the higher end of that range of sleep. The way you feel that day has a HUGE effect on your performance, so I wouldn't risk it. I'll probably Nyquil a bit, but not too much so I'm not groggy the next day. Maybe a Benadryl...Br3v wrote:Come on rascal you know the answer to this. Yes go to sleep early, get a good 6-8 hrs.

Getting TOO much sleep is far more dangerous then not getting enough for me.
