i need an excuse to ask boss for monday off for mofo LSAT

Post by naillsat » Mon Jun 04, 2012 2:14 am

my boss is a nanomanager, and i :| dont want him to know that i am taking lsat on monday, but still need to take that day off from work. he is not nice but still somewhat reasonable. i dont want to call in telling him i am sick on monday either, so i have to come up with an excuse that would seem valid before Friday :?: .

i was thinking of taking this whole week off, but work is hectic and i cant take that much off, so it'snot ideal.

Funeral. The death has to occur on Thursday or Friday though.

Doctors appointment.

Family emergency, best part is that it doesn't have to end up being serious.

Threw your back

Friend/fam from out of state is visiting.

Pillow too cozy to get up.
Puppy too cute to leave.
Car too beautiful to drive.
Mind too brilliant to waste.

Any of the above should do.

Roommate high on bath salt. Threatening to eat you if you come out of room.

Lib friend threatened to kill you when you did laundry and separated whites and colors; you need time to recover.

Vividly describe diarrhea. Your boss might cut you off before you finish and give you the day off.

If you're not going for the feigned illness, I suggest you not ask for the day off. Don't ask questions for which there's only one acceptable answer. You have to manage your manager--tell him/her that you need the day off for personal reasons. Ask if you need to fill out any paperwork and would he/she like you to come in and make up the day another time. Those are questions for which multiple answers are acceptable.

Either way, make sure your boss can't see your FB page or don't post about it.

(Lord help those who friend a nanomanager boss.)
