Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
Sun: Drill LG until I black out. Once I come to, PT 65
Mon: PT 61 Drill most missed LR
Tues: PT 62 Drill LR
Wed: PT 63 Drill LR
Thurs: Take PT 64
Fri: Review exams in the 60.
Sat: Do some light LG work. Review some LR questions. Basically, cover anything I feel insecure about.
Sun: Sleep late, maybe catch a baseball game, etc.
Monday: HULK SMASH!
I've noticed that I do really well after I really push it on PTs for a few days then break and do a little light drilling and review then go back to it. Trying to replicate this effect in the later part of next weeks prep.

I'm basically doing this but I've already taken 63 and I plan on going over the last 10 or so exams pretty intensely as review and going light on the drilling.VasaVasori wrote:Oh my god if anyone asks me this again I will cry.

Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
I'm running out of materialzz. I have test 41-45 and 62-65 left
Sat: pt 61 (got a 177 ;D)
Sun: pt 41/42
Mon: pt 43
Tues: 44/45
Wed: 62
Thurs: 63
Friday: 64
Sat: light drills throughout the day
Sun: test 65, but in all honestly I will probably leave it ungraded. Or at least not look at the scale.
--
I really only need ~171, and I prep in the 173-178 range. So all should be well, as long as I remain confident.

Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
I haven't decided if I want to take PT 63 today.
Pros:
It's Sunday and I work on Monday, so I can take it at 1pm with an experimental to simulate test-taking experience.
A good score may boost my confidence after PT 62
Cons:
I won't get to do anything fun this afternoon.
I just did a few LGs last night and looked over PT 62. I haven't felt like I've made any strides/learning breakthroughs.
YOU DECIDE FOR ME.

If it is the case that there are learning breakthroughs still to be made, then why are you taking the test in June?shifty_eyed wrote:I haven't decided if I want to take PT 63 today.

I just need to tighten up a few things, and I can do so in the next week. My PT average is still above 175.Sloth Hero wrote:If it is the case that there are learning breakthroughs still to be made, then why are you taking the test in June?shifty_eyed wrote:I haven't decided if I want to take PT 63 today.

Is there really ever a situation where learning breakthroughs can't be made?Sloth Hero wrote:If it is the case that there are learning breakthroughs still to be made, then why are you taking the test in June?shifty_eyed wrote:I haven't decided if I want to take PT 63 today.

Seriously. Next thing we know Max and Stalkmore will say they withdrew to devote the summer to learning the true complexities of the test.VasaVasori wrote:If shifty isn't ready for this test, I might as well just withdraw now, because then I'm definitely not ready.shifty_eyed wrote:I just need to tighten up a few things, and I can do so in the next week. M: PT 62
T: Drill (LG, LR, 1 RC passage)
W: Pt 63
Th: Drill (LG, LR, 1 RC passage
F: PT 64
Sat: 2 LG games, 2 RC passages and 1LR section from PT65
Sun: 2 LG games, 2 RC passages and 1LR section from PT65 (or less if I feel confident)
MONDAY JUNE 11th: Did my best thus far on PT59 so I printed it out and am saving it for a warm up
I am not a fan of taking a day off, my mind seems to work better if I have done the stuff before. Also, I have been on this schedule (3 PTs a week) for about a 1.5 months so it's all routine now. I'm pretty mental about the whole "routine" of it all which probably comes from being an athlete. Whenever I take a PT I wake up at the same time, eat the same thing...ect. I just would like to go into Monday thinking that it is the SSDD as it has been for months.

Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
FWIW, I decided against doing PT 63 today.
Once I finish my Cambridge LG book of all LGs from PT 40-60, I am going to buy the downloadable version of the LGs from 20-60, and go through the 2 Cambridge LG books I've already done and print out and do:
Any game that took me longer than 7:30
Any game that I missed a question on
I will basically have done all the games I didn't destroy AT LEAST twice by then.
I'm going to drill RC, but rely on PTs for keeping LR fresh. I will change this if LR starts to drop in my next PT or two.
PT schedule:
63 Monday
64 Wed
65 Saturday

Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
Apologies shift -- when people refer to 'breakthroughs' I generally lump em' in the 60's range.
I'll probably do some LG drills as well to keep my times down -- but dang, at least for me, since PT 57 games have become too easy. Honestly. I want them to be harder to throw the curve a bit more, since I could handle substantially more difficult/time-consuming games.
My concern right now is that my LR times have slipped all the sudden. I went from 32 min completions up to 34/35 mins. :< (but i've been taking them at starbucks lately, and the buristas played 'call me maybe' 6x in a row to try to mess with their coworkers. i miss u so bad.)
I'm in the same area as you. 177's the past 3 days. I only 'need' a 171, so I've got a nice buffer, and this relaxes me a bit. [nyunyunyunyunyu]
This sounds good. Last week I did about 70 RC passages (10 a day), and on a fresh PT today I got -0 on RC (where it was -1 to -3 before). Guess brute forcing might have helped me a bit.shifty_eyed wrote:FWIW, I decided against doing PT 63 today.

Re: Last week of preparation prior to June administration?
Eh. Not really doing anything.
I'm thinking it might be best to just relax and go out shoot some hoops, watch some TV, get a drink or two, and just take it easy.
Like screw it. Na mean?
Just come in on test day like a beast and try to put out my best performance ever on every section.
