Re: Are the powerscore bibles worth the investment? Av.increase?
I cold diag'd at 158 so began aiming for mI'd 160s before I started lurking here. I am now pting in the 170s thanks to the psbs and seeing so many people shooting so high on here. The limit is 180 so set your goal there. That way you'll never get complacent.

This is what you should be doing. And to answer your question, yes the bibles are amazing. They were definitely a major reason for my success on test day. Absolutely get them.rinkrat19 wrote:
And don't aim for a 10-point increase, or you might be limiting yourself. Aim for 180 and get as close as you can. If that's 160, okay. But what if you could have scored 165 or 172 and you let yourself slack off when your practice scores started hitting 160?

what i meant was that the powerscore guides might contribute 1 to 2 points on top of the other points you gain from other study materials. i would attribute at least 1-2 points from my overall score increase (11 pts) from diagnostic to actual test to the powerscore materials. i ended up scoring a 171 on the lsat. if i scored two points lower, i would have far less schools/scholarship money available to me. therefore, in retrospect i think anything that might contribute a point or two is definitely worth $80.slburgess86 wrote:cj, thanks for the response, but I would hardly consider it worth my while to study from now until OCT and bring my 150 up to a 151 or 152. I really think I need the 10 point increase, Im just trying to figure out 1. how common that big of an increase is, 2. how hard I would have to work a week to get it, and 3. what best to use to study and prepare.

Man, you've got to stop obsessing over trying to predict your exact improvement and just go balls-out studying. Every point you improve is worth money, either in employability (by getting into a better school) or in scholarships. Why would you NOT get some books that have helped people, even if it's only a couple of extra points? NO ONE CAN TELL YOU EXACTLY HOW MUCH THE BIBLES WILL HELP.

I went from a 155 diagnostic to a 170 on test day, with a PT high of 176. Wouldn't have happened without the bibles. Remember though, they aren't sufficient by themselves.slburgess86 wrote:Thanks joe. How many points overall did you improve after using the bibles??
