Taking the Same Prep Course Twice

Post by 727813 » Fri May 25, 2012 9:06 am

Has anyone taken the same prep class twice (Powerscore)?

I am busy, lazy, not self-motivated and know that I will miss a few classes the first go-round. I am thinking of taking the same course back-to-back leading up to the October LSAT. I'm the type that does best if I am required to be somewhere, so the virtual course is not for me. Considering that my Amazon-purchased practice books are on the shelf still, self-study is not ideal either.

*Due to schedule conflicts, I can't take the others (Testmasters, Kaplan, PR, etc).**

I don't think there's anything wrong with this, except wasting money by half-assing it twice.

I have found self-studying to be the most effective way to prep. You'll start picking up on the nuances of the exam by drilling individual questions types. So, buy the Manhattan LSAT LR prep book, Powerscore LG bible and Cambridge LR and LG separated by type. Then, drill to perfection.

Fwiw, I myself took Powerscore twice. I did not see much improvement from one course to the next. It was a waste of money for me. On another note, you seriously need to get motivated ASAP. This exam will have a HUGE impact on your future.

I have found that Velocity is ridiculously good for LR and LG, and pretty effective for RC as well...

To motivate yourself, you should probably just remember that no other test in your life up to now has been important in deciding the rest of your life...
