Where to buy the best LSAT watch/timer? Forum

There's a bunch of different LSAT watches for sale.

Could someone post a link to a reliable one?

I've had a few students buy this watch with generally favorable reviews. But honestly I don't think there is a huge difference between different ones...

Do you know if that watch is silent?

I've been looking for a cheap chronograph where I can just press a button to reset the time to 12:00, and for one to be silent.

The only one I've found that matches these requirements is this one: http://180watch.com/

It's pretty ugly though. I emailed the company asking them about changing the face, but I might just buy it and change the face myself. This watch is $50, but it is completely silent and a one-button reset.

I've had the same analog watch for the past 7 years in doing various timing-related tasks, and I've never gotten used to the ticking, and it's a pain to pull the button out and reset. And when I finish a section and/or want to quickly reset time, I know that if I'm say, 12 seconds off, that time difference will bother the hell out of me all during the test.

I don't think it is. To get a silent watch I think you will have to look for a silent specific watch, unfortunately.

That 180 watch is freaking awesome!!!

I wish I had that when I took the test. LOL, honestly i was so jittery and nervous I didnt even set my watch for most of the sections. I forgot. Luckily timing was only an issue for my during RC.

I like that one. LSAT Blog recommends it...

Plus, i think it's one you could actually use after the LSAT... and it's not super expensive.

Maybe it's just me, but I do not understand the hype about the 180 watch

, and for $50+ there has to be something better.

I'd be willing to bet you can sell the 180 watch on eBay for 30 or $40 after the test. So the cost would be pretty low. Resetting an analog watch isn't really a big deal, but if you can do something to alleviate that tiny bit of stress, why not?

Honestly, test takers should just use their own watches instead of wasting money on these cheap and often defective timers. When I studied I used an online timer to learn how to best pace myself and get accustomed to the timing aspect of the LSAT. On the actual test day, I felt that looking at the time only made me nervous and changed my pace. Taking timed tests allows test takers to learn and go at a pace that allows for the best accuracy and deviating from that pace will usually lead to more mistakes and a lower score.
