Ritual before starting a study session

Post by AbhiJ » Fri Mar 23, 2012 3:12 pm

Just wanted to know if you guys have any particular ritual or visualization method that you employ before starting your study session. For example: Flipping the pages of the books you are going to study, cursing your employer :), making a commitment to yourself that you are going to stick 2 hours straight etc.

Generally I make a 25 min pre-test of tricky stuff i've done before: 1 game, 1 rc passage, 2 LR pages. Just to get the LSAT juices flowin'

Then I just browse TLS forums, IVY league school websites, daydream about LS, blare some Queen while I remove all distractions from the vicinity for about 15 mins.

Remind myself about how much smarter I am than everyone else.

THEN IM READY

Walk my dog and make sure he's comfy so he doesn't run up and bother me in the middle of a diagnostic. I also generally organize my study area for a brief minute to put everything in its place.

Then I remind myself about how much smarter Sloth Hero is than me.

Usually do some pushups, slap myself in the face a couple of times, and then watch http://youtu.be/cyJgTTUoBDk

First I usually stretch out a bit, and have a glass of water. Then I start a small fire, and slash my palms with a curved blade. It's all pretty normal from there, write 180 on scrap of monkey skin, blood drips onto skin, burn skin, inhale fumes, yada yada yada, Huitzilopochtli is pleased by the offering. Then some timed sections.

I just listen to loud rap music with lyrics about going from dirt poor to the penthouse.
