What did you get on your first practice test? Forum

I just took my first practice test in order to gauge where I am at and what I need to focus on for the June LSAT. I haven't done any sort of prep at all and I got a 160... So I'm just curious to see where other people started and what they ended up with on the test after doing test prep!

I'm thing the search feature will give you a few relevant threads, but I got a 164 (with -11 in logic games haha). 160 is a great starting point though. You'll do great.

Hahah I had a similar experience with the logic games.. I definitely need to work on those!

My LSAT prep teacher said that the avg increase from first test was about 15pts for his students. It turned out to be about the same for me. 160 is great!

15 points is a huge jump. That will take a TON of work. Yes it's doable, but it will take a few months of devotion. I put in three months of intensive study and I'd be psyched with a 10 point jump (but then again I started at a 164).

169. Logic Games was also my weakest point. I must have spent 3-4 minutes on the first game drawing silly boxes like the logic games I did in math class as a child before I realized it was a waste of time.

I just took in February but I was PT'ing around 174 average by the time I took.

I never took a PT before I started studying, but I would guess it was a little below 160. Logic games took forever; I would have probably only finished two or three of them in 35 min.

165. Got destroyed on LG because I had no idea how to approach the games. I took two more practice tests, skimmed the LG Bible and got a 173 on test day.

I know plenty of people who started out in the 150's and ended up scoring >170. Huge improvements are possible if you're willing to work.

I started around 160. I took it cold twice, two or three years apart, without prep. Once was 159 I think and the second was 162, and I ended up at 177

I overperformed a little, but I think you can get to mid 170s with decent prep. Good luck!

PT 2 - 152 (lowest ever)

LSAT 2 - 171 (final)

First PT was a 164, eventually got a 175 on the real deal. Took a lot of prep though.

147 and had no idea what I was doing, LR was over my head.

Ended up with a 167 with about 10 weeks of moderate (6 hours a week) studying.

168, though I was hungover. My roommate from freshman year who transferred out came to visit that weekend, and I really wanted to see where I stood (it was a free proctored exam). I still don't know how I woke up.

My second practice test was a 172 (same conditions, though not hungover, about 5 months later with no further prep).

I guess my true "cold" score falls somewhere in between these two. As for my actual score, well, I'll let you know when I get the February results back.

Diagnostic was 151..dropped like 13/14 in LG...3 months later my best PT was 169..and I am waiting to see what my real score is from Feb.

Diag was 151
Lowest was 149

Broke through to 160s after several months of studying way more than most people.

last 2 pts I made a 169 and a 165.

I took the LSAT in Dec, and got a 167. -12 reading comp. fml

160, but I had gone through the LG Bible first. Probably would have been a 145 because Logic Games confused the hell out of me before that book.
