International Lawyer, 2,8 GPA, chance to get in to Fordham?
I'm a Veezuelan Lawyer, looking forward to a JD in New York. I have about 2,8 GPA, do you think I have a chance to get into Fordham with a good LSAT score?
I heard, although don't know if it is true that for International students the elegibility criteria was rather different than that of a US student.
Please help me because I do not know if my expectations are too high . What other good universities do you recommend in NYC?
Thank You!!

You are not likely to get the required LSAT score if English is a second language. Why do you need a JD? Do you actually think you will practice here? Why not LLM if you want a New York vacation? Do you have $175000 just lying around in your bank account to pay for the JD and living expenses?

Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Actually I just got my US Resident's card and the situation in Venezuela is not pretty for anyone, specially for Lawyers. I plan on staying in NYC to practice Law there and luckily I can pay for college.
I am going to enroll in a LSAT course to get a good score. For me the language won't be a problem since I studied in an American school for 6 years.
So, should I give it a shot?
Thanks.

Sure, give it a shot. But most likely you will miss Forham and wind up at Brooklyn or lower.RicardoZuloaga wrote:Actually I just got my US Resident's card and the situation in Venezuela is not pretty for anyone, specially for Lawyers. You will probably need 167 or 168 for Fordham with that GPA.

Historically this hasn't been the case. Fordham really doesn't like people with less than a 3.0 The best a non URM has managed is a WL -> Accept and that was with a really high LSAST.Danteshek wrote: Sure, give it a shot. But most likely you will miss Forham and wind up at Brooklyn or lower.
