Difficulty of December '11? Forum

What'd you guys think? I thought games were easier than normal, but RC and one of the LR was harder than normal.

I had trouble with game 3, and I usually have -0. I was done with first two in 14 minutes, and spent like 12 minutes on game 3.

I too found game 3 of logic games to be pretty hard. The other three games were extremely easy though.

LR was normal

RC was incredibly hard imo.

I had RC LR LG RC LR

1st RC i loved, went through and felt great.

Same with first LR, had over 5 minutes to double check toughies

LG was easy but lost focus on game 3.

second RC SUCKED

Second LR I got tired at the end and had to rush.

I was practice testing at around 167-170 (172 on a very good day) and I thought that the RC section had a couple tricky questions, the LR did not seem too bad, however, a couple tricky questions lurked there, and I thought the games were the easiest I have ever seen.......

Except for my fourth game.....

Which could have destroyed my score

1st 2 games wer easy, 4th was pretty hard and time consuming, didn't even get to 3rd game due to lack of time.

RC was tough, but LR was not bad overall.

basically, I did terribly.

Seems to go against what everyone is saying, but I thought the RC was easy and straightforward, LRs were pretty easy, but had a tough time with the games

I had two LG sections. Each one I found the first 3 really easy, and couldn't make the crucial inference for the last problem. Anyone sure yet which one was experimental?

I had 1 LG and it was easy IMO

RC was freaking hard

and 3 LR made me want to shoot myself donno though...

Good to hear that for the most part people seem to be echoing my sentiments. Test was really weird for me because games are usually my weakest and I usually do quite well on RC/LR, but like I said I thought RC and second LR were both VERY hard and games much easier than usual. Here's to hoping for a very generous curve.

Exactly the same. If I knew I'd have these issues with the RC section, I would have chosen a different username.

Here's a nice jamison to ease the headache I have after that test. I didn't have great PT scores, but for some reason felt this test was easier, in general, then my PT's. I hope my score reflects that.

Def thought the 1st LR section I had was a lot different with different question stems...so I'm thinking thats the experimental?

For the 3rd game, did anyone have difficulty with this one more so then the others?

I too had two LG sections! I found the first LG section tough, but then the 2nd LG too easy. So now I have no idea which one was the real one.

I was fortunate to have laser focus on Lg. I finished the first two games in 10 minutes; I was able to take my time on the 3rd and 4th games, and still had 5 minutes left. If anyone got to the 4th game with 8-10 minutes left, I don't see how they could've done well.

I thought the games were easy. Did I get easy deductions or something? I breezed through the first game within 4 mins and the 2nd game within another 7 mins or so. I had a lot of time to do game 3 and 4. I was thinking game 4 would be super tough like mauve dinosaurs but glad it wasn't.

My exp. RC was super easy, but my 2nd RC had 2 easy passages and 2 more difficult ones. I started with the longest/most difficult so wasted 13-14 mins on that. Had to do the last one in 5 mins...prob got them all wrong. Hoping I did well on all of the other sections to afford for the possible -10 on the last RC.

As a generalization, I feel like the experimental lures you into a false sense of security. That's what happened to me on experimental games, and it sounds the same for those who had RC experimental.

As a veteran of PT 20-64 I can say that part of the RC was unlike any of the tests I have seen. Rest of the test was normal. Probably evens out in the end.

I had LG(exp) LR LG RC LR. The first LR seemed reasonably easy, with only a few hard Qs. The real LG seemed easier than most, but the last two games were harder, especially fourth for me. With the exception of one (maybe two) Qs on third game, and for a decent amount of game four, LG was easiest in recent memory. RC was a mix of hard and easy passages. Comparative was pretty easy if I remember correctly. I think overall RC was a bit harder, but overall not too bad. Second LR was hardest I have had in awhile, but I think I did ok. I just really hope I scored better this time.

right?? i felt like the RC questions weren't even familiar, they were way harder/longer and no easy two word tone questions.

LG 1 was the experimental. I thought RC was pretty straightforward especially passages 1 and 4. The second passage was hard.

THIS. no tone, no author's attitude....seemed like just 4 main idea questions and then the rest were most strongly supported's or best inferred...with like 1/2 parallel Q's. $W%&*$()%#

You know, that's probably why I didn't feel too confident on RC; they were all tough inference questions - not a lot of gimmes.

Well, hopefully this meant that most people bombed RC and we are in good shape.
