Someone entertain this hypothetical question for me?
How much is a score above 165 hurt by two mediocre grades (in the 150s) preceding it?

Unless you scored a 157-159 and these were at the lowest end of your PT scores when preparing, I would say quite a bit. But if you were averaging in the mid/low 160's and ended up with a 159 or something, it would probably be a good idea to take another shot at it.emasters wrote:Someone entertain this hypothetical question for me?

I really don't know that much about multiple scores, but I'm guessing the damage would be eitheremasters wrote:Someone entertain this hypothetical question for me?

a) adcomms average your two highest and consider your app with that value, e.g., if your #s are 155/165, they view it as a 160.
b) they consider your app with primarily the highest score in mind or within a few points short of that, e.g., highest is 165, they view it as a 162-165
This all probably depends on the specific school and maybe partly on the #s of others in your cycle. Either way, I think a huge jump probably warrants some kind of addendum explaining the increase.
