If you are taking a year off anyways why not wait until June and you will be fully prepped? There won't be any type of significant difference by taking it in December unless you have the sudden urge to apply this cycle.

Or, you could take it, see how you feel and cancel if you don't feel good about it. Schools don't read into cancelled scores at all unless you just bomb the next test. Ideally, you should only take the test once, but the option of taking it under real conditions might be good. If you cruise, you may just decide to keep the score and get that 170+.
