As to your first question, no I don't think there are questions you can just answer without reading the passage. There are questions that are pretty predictable, such as the main point questions and the stance on the argument questions. If you're looking for these answers as you're reading then you should be able to answer them more quickly which might save you some time.

Some other time saving strategies might be to:

*Answer the passages in the order of the ones that have the most questions to the least questions
*force yourself to skip a question if you've had to re-read it more than twice, circle the number and come back to it at the end
*Try drilling (I know you only have 2 days) one passage for 8 minutes and see if you can force yourself to do that consistently
*If you're going to spend a majority of the time on the passage, force yourself to try and retain as much as you can so you don't have to re-read the passage

Those are just things that have helped me get through the RC section.

As for your other question, I wear glasses when I take the test. I like it.

Best of luck on Saturday!

1) I can get through 3 RC passages and read the 4th just to run out of time before being able to answer any of the questions. Obviously, this blows. Are there certain suggestions one could pretty confidently answer without having having to read the whole passage? Or are there any other strategies you'd recommend in this situation? Right now my strategy is to use one answer for all of those in that section and hope I get at least one right.

2) A more random question. Does anyone who wears glasses/contacts and is near sighted (you can see near, not far) feel like it's harder to read with your glasses or contacts on/in? I'm going to check this tomorrow by taking my contacts out (I have a pair of glasses I could take for test day that I could easily remove). Right now it takes me longer than it should (between 3 and 1/2 to 4 minutes) to read the passage before I can even start to attack the answers. Wouldn't it be a lovely fix if I just needed to remove my prescription since I'm reading up close and in this case wouldn't need it really as much. Anyone else experimented with this?

Thanks :)
1- Specific reference questions do not require reading the whole passage.
2- IDK

I have the same problem as you in RC and I never manage to finish a section on time.
Check out this method. This is what I plan to do with my last passage.

Also, make sure to do the passage with the least number of questions at the end.
