Quick LG Question
I'm averaging about -6 or -7 on LGs when I attempt them "cold" when I give myself a strict 35 mins. I've been giving myself a day or two to forget the right answers and then I attack the same set of questions again. On the second time through, I usually get -2 or -3 for stupid mistakes. Also, if I attempt a section "cold" with no time constraints, I usually get -2 or -3. Am I correct to assume that this means that I understand the concepts and simply need to drill more to improve on "cold" sections?
I would be happy with a -3/-2 on October test day, since I do pretty well on the other sections. Thanks for the help.

No, Powersnatch. This means that you DON'T understand the concepts. You should get none wrong with unlimited time. Also, if I attempt a section "cold" with no time constraints, I usually get -2 or -3. Am I correct to assume that this means that I understand the concepts

Re: Quick LG Question
Sarcasm aside, is it just a matter of drilling?

My previous post contained no sarcasm.
Yes, it is a matter of drilling, and also going through material like the Powerscore Logic Games bible or taking a prep class. You need some kind of instruction so that you have a basic idea of how to diagram the game, and then tons of drilling to practice finding deductions and improving your speed.
At this point, study aggressively for October, but be prepared to cancel and try again in December.
Edit: For some reason I thought you were missing 2/3 on single untimed games as opposed to 4 game sections. In your case, you just need to drill like crazy to get the fundamentals down. This will in turn allow you to go through games faster. 6 or 7 on a section is way too many to be missing.

Re: Quick LG Question
In my opinion, if you're missing any of the questions you are having some kind of problem with the concepts. For every five practice LSATs I take, I might miss one question total--which is usually out of stupidity. You should be able to get every question right, every time. I'd begin with ignoring the time limits and really focusing on getting the questions right. There's obviously something that you're missing. You shouldn't consistently miss 2-3 questions.
With that said, it's not as if missing 2-3 questions is the end of the world. Obviously, you do well at the logic games. I just believe you could do better.
Best of luck in October!

Re: Quick LG Question
Like others said, you still have room to improve in your conceptual understanding. This is good news; you can easily get a few more points just by nailing LG. I bet plenty of people in the October Study Thread wish their weakness were in LG.

Re: Quick LG Question
Drill. IMO LGs are almost a respite. One game may take a little bit of time for me simply because I don't know all the rote inferences to make from certain constraints, so I have to diagram a little more than some other people, but I still finish with maybe 3-5 minutes left. You should really get fast enough to the point that you can check every answer and be confident in a -0 and it's definitely something you can do in a few weeks if you push yourself.
