October LSAT: cancel, no show, postpone suck it up?
I'm signed up to take the October LSAT but I already know I won't be able to get adequately prepared in time since I will still be in school and will be juggling other things. I was going to just cancel and reregister for a later date, maybe the june one, and take a gap year. My issue is that I've been reading about how cancelled tests and no shows show up on your score records to schools and may have a neg. impact on your admissions.
if i cancel by the deadline to get a refund and everything (a couple weeks before the test) does it still show up on my score report/count as one of my three? if it does, should i pay the fee to postpone or just try to take it unprepared? i dont want to do this because most top tier schools average it seems.
thoughts?

When they say 'cancel' they mean cancelling a score after you take the test. AFIK you can move your test date or withdraw your registration without any impact as long as its before their stated deadline, and if you feel unprepared that is what you should absolutely do rather than going in unprepared...

Or show up and go absolutely nuts during the test so that they have to cancel everyone's score.

They don't really care about one cancel, but if you know you aren't keeping it, you should move your test date back

I thought you could postpone without anything showing up, not really sure. At any rate a cancel look better than a bad score (if you were to take it unprepared).

This. As long as you cancel at least 24 hours before the test, nothing shows up on your record.annyong wrote:When they say 'cancel' they mean cancelling a score after you take the test. k, that made more sense to me but i couldnt find much on the web about cancelling registration, it was all about cancelling scores. this was much more helpful!
