Retaking a measly 154, I was PT'ing at 157-158 before my test. Made stupid mistakes (timing decisions) in RC including leaving one blank, which the answer my guess choice of course. I was about -4 under in games, and had two args sections I couldve done a few better. Shooting for 165 if the heavens open earth, but if they dont and God just wants to get me something really solid then 160.

You might just have to go to a farther test site. Sorry zozin ):

How well are you PTing now? Most people experience a test-day drop from their average PT scores, so you should account for that (:

PT 31 = 169
PT 32 = 168
PT 42 (today) = 168

Need to get over this dratted bump and move into the 170s!!!!!!!!!

Taking another PT tomorrow. Does anyone feel mentally tired during the test? How do you guys build mental endurance? I think I could break into the 170s if I would just re-check my answers (I usually have 2-4 minutes leftover) but I never do.

If I experience another mental blockage tomorrow, I'm going to stop taking PTs and just do a row of individual timed sections.

Thought I'd check in here.

Was PTing in the 163-165 range before June but cancelled because the test was completely backwards from what I was expecting. I blew through games and got tripped up on RC, which was the complete opposite of what my typical experience was during practice.

I picked up LGB (had done TM) and now I'm just sort of doing my own schedule. My two PTs since the June test have been 171 and 169, so I'm pretty excited with the progress and if I continue to improve a bit I've got a shot at some really good schools.

Cheers!

took my first pt since my june 159 a couple of days ago. Got a 157 which I'm not so happy about. I did go -1 on the first lr section which is a good sign since thts what Ive been really focusing on increasing my score in. LG timing was off so I was only able to do 3 games. Then I got tired and went-10 on both lr and rc. Need a lot of work on my rc. hopefully my next pt goes well.

I'm right there with you. 168 last week and 167 today, which I am happy with, but that damn 170!

How much time is usually spent for warm up before the PT? I usually do LR 5-8 questions in 5-8 mins and then take a 5 min break to breath and get ready to start the PT.Is it enough time/questions to get into the groove?

How is the time tracking usually done?I start from 12 and go to 1:45.Then start again after break (sec 3) from 12.

I am curious to know how others are dealing with the above tasks.

Thanks for helping!!

I take fifteen minutes to do a game and five LR problems. Something I recently started doing was not scoring them. It used to kill my confidence a little when I checked the answers on my warmup and performed poorly.

With timing, I reset my watch to 11:25 at the beginning of each section.

Thanks!! I would try that in the next PT.

Hello all, hope everyone's studying is going well. Just thought I'd share some cheer. I got my first 170 today woop woop. Granted, it was a PT in the 40s but my goal is to PT around the 170s in hopes for something 160s on test day. I'm retaking a 155 from Dec. 2010.

Retaking a retake - went down in December from my October test, but it was right after finals and I got a sinus infection, so I'm hoping this one will be better. Just wish I could get over those stupid in/out game types because I keep getting those wrong, and if I don't improve, I'm going to bomb it come test day. Anyone have good pointers for those games? If it weren't for that, I'd be doing really well.

I heard some people really like the Atlas / Manhattan LSAT's method, but honestly for me, I just write out the conditional for each rule (and their contrapos), aka the powerscore method. I don't even make major inferences, just checking each rules out on each questions. I think game-wise I've done enough to have some speed so I still finish "on-time". So even though my method seems really rudimentary, it works for me.
