How much did your score change on retake?

Post by NervousNelly » Sat Jul 23, 2011 8:10 am

I'm planning on retaking the June LSAT (from a 168), and I'd be thrilled to hear TLS's tales of triumph, or caution.

And retakers who scored better, do you think it affected/ will affect your admissions? At what point is the lower score discounted?

My understanding is that many schools will dump the lower score if you have a ten point increase. Your 168 is extremely solid. As such I feel that your score would be averaged.

Before I took my first official test i was PTing n the 160-165 range and ended up with a disappointing 155, I studied harder, PTed in the 162-167 range and got a 166, so if you work at it, you can overcome. if you feel you can make the hurdle over the 170 mark, then do it, it opens up the t14 and lots of scholly money at lower schools

I retook a 168 and scored a 173. Focused heavily on my weak areas in the months before test day, and was constantly doing games. Unless you're -0 on games, I recommend getting them from Cambridge LSAT and printing lots of copies. You can then always keep a couple of games in your pocket for any time you have ten minutes free. Unlike other sections, I think repeating games is very valuable.

Retook a 159. Totally changed study habits. Got another 159. Taking a third time with low expectations.
