When to take it

Post by lawschoolboundfuture » Wed Jul 13, 2011 10:18 pm

I am going to be a Junior in college this fall. I decided to spend the summer studying for the LSAT and am planning on taking it this September. I just wanted to check if there were any negatives to taking the test early. I know most people try to take it the June after Junior year. Is there any reason that taking it in the fall of junior year is bad? Thanks for your help!

I just know that my reasoning skills improved during my junior year and I did better than I would have if I had taken it early.

LSAT

The score is only good for five years, but if you are dead set on law school after undergrad October vs. June won't make a big difference. Just make sure you can devote 200 or more hours to studying before you take it.

Waiting until June/Oct of your app year should not really have any ill effects. That being said, if you're hitting the number you want to hit AND you feel like you've done all the studying you can, taking early does leave room for a retake.
