another retake? topic

Post by IamIn » Tue Jun 28, 2011 3:53 pm

I've already asked this question in another topic but I would like to hear advice from other people as well. Got 154(Oct 2010) and 165(June 2011). Scored LR1 -3, LG -1, LR2 -2, RC -11. I am international student, currently living in US. I have Above Average GPA. SHould I retake? I've already used almost all PTs and feel like I am burnt out.. Really need you advice..

Yes. There is a large possible upside (even 1-2 points is a huge difference) with no downside (other than the time you spend studying).

168-169. I scored either 168 or 169 on almost every test I've taken....

I actually had the same problem as you on test day. I got -6 just on RC, -3 LR, -2 LG. I just went over the RC today and it seems that the difference between the right answer and the wrong answer on the new RC can be a single word. I think you should retake it since your PT is 168/9, but you should seriously study.

No harm in retaking. But if you do (especially if you are burned out) don't go crazy with studying. Take a month off. Then study intermittently between then and the test and just go in and see how you do. If you do better, awesome. If you don't, well no sweat.

You'd be amazed at how much your score can go up merely from having nothing to lose and just taking the test to maybe, possibly go up.
