Would it be worth it to retake? Am looking into T6 school. GPA ~3.4-3.5. Would it be worth retaking for higher chances? scholarship money?

Would I even get scholarship money from T6 with, say, a ~176?
I'm not sure it will earn you money, but it might increase your chances if you can get that LSAT up by two more points and if you really want that T6 spot.

I'd hate to have your problem. You're in a really difficult situation.

Get apps ready, apply. Then retake Oct and hope it's awesome.

+1

In all seriousness though, if you think you can do better, retake

LR: -5
RC: -0 (Was getting worried about this given what everyone else one the forum was saying; usu. range from -0 to -3 on RC)
LG: -2

Thought I was going to do well on the LR. For LG, I didn't remember having a cars-themed game (guess I aced that portion?)

Was prepping in the upper 170s (last 10 test average was 177). Was really hoping for a 176+. Didn't feel stressed during exam and didn't regret anything w.r.t. prepping. Did all I could really.

I'm in almost the same situation. High score but a couple points off what I was prep testing at (consistently 177-180). Thinking I will likely retake, with the intention of canceling if I feel anything less than really good about it. I'm thinking GPA is probably too low to think any money at a T6 school, but a higher LSAT will at least increase the chances of being admitted (or scholarships at slightly lower ranked schools).

You pretty much have no shot at cash from T6 no matter what, with a 3.4-3.5 you'll be lucky to get into CCN at all, even with a new 177-180 to match your 173. Not the luckiest guy in the world or anything, I think it's worth a shot, but most people in our little corner of LSN are red and yellow for CCN. I say this as someone with pretty much identical stats as you.

I can't remember the medians for these schools anymore, but I think getting to 174 puts you above 75th percentile for everything except Harvard and Yale. That might make a re-take worth a shot right there.

Retaking would be absurd IMO. We're talking about 2 questions or so. That's the difference between having gas on test day and not, or some other trivial factor. The 3.5 is what you should be working on. LSN has 180s who didn't even make the waitlist at HYS due to a 3.5ish GPA.

This is very close to my situation and this:

is what I think I'm going to do, with this:

as my reasoning, if that helps your decision. :)
