Mmm, there are more polite (and effective!) ways to go about giving an answer to a question than a beating-around-the-bush way to say use common sense. Again, if you don't have anything pleasant to say why say it at all? Do we really need more assholes running around on the intrawebs?

+1

soj, don't be a douche and link to a 360 page thread expecting the person with a legitimate question to sift through to find the 3 pages of useful information. I went in the thread the other day and found nothing but stuff for the lounge. I'm so tired of people who waste time and effort going into threads only to not answer the question and instead link to other threads. If you don't want to give useful information, then exit the thread and someone else will come along later who will.

The official release date isn't until next Wednesday, I believe. Chance of it coming out on Friday, but probably not before. It's killing everyone, I know...but patience is a virtue.
LOL. You are not going to like it here. I suggest you either stop bitching or GTFO.
I like these forums - at least the people on here who are genuinely trying to give decent law school related advice. Not the people that troll forums acting like dbags because they can hide behind a computer.

Also, not all of us spend hours a day sitting in the waiting thread or browsing through other forums - so people come here looking for some quick, useful advice. They make a new thread, and if you don't want to respond to it then I suggest you GTFO. Not the people giving advice.

People looking for quick, useful advice should learn how to use search functions not post their own threads for questions that have already been answered and discussed several times. HTH.

If you're too stupid/lazy to use the search function don't be surprised when your questions are ignored and/or mocked.

I'm going to try to say this in the most restrained way possible so I don't venture into ban territory...

But boo fucking hoo. TLS does not exist to continually answer and reanswer the simplistic questions of anxious little aspies. If you ask what is objectively a stupid question or something for which the answer is LITERALLY right next to your new thread, you should be grateful you get a link at all instead of being bitch slapped.

Do your own searches for these obvious answers or at least put in the effort to read some of what already exists before you bitch and moan about how unhelpful we are. We try to discourage wasting everyone's time and cluttering shit up. So please come to realize that we do not care if you think we are mean. This is a site for jaded, cynical law students and we would have you cry before we begin to give a fuck.

Despite your overwhelmingly eloquent retort, I think you're invariably supporting our view from the beginning. I think there have been multiple references to the end goal of saving time (whether for the questioner or the respondent).

I understand the merits of the proper use queries in search engines. But even for those who don't, I don't believe there's any reason to make distinctions such as "us" or "you". This is a forum and all users are equal. If certain people have opinions on the methods by which others use to respond to questions, it does not justify isolating them and making them feel as if they aren't in the "in-crowd". We're all TLS'ers.

And on a side note, to answer your earlier question, I'm not mad. I'm sorry if I came off that way - I was sitting in a Business Finance class that was perpetually boring me to death and I'm sure a little irritation from that rubbed off on my earlier post.

The guy just asked a question. If you really don't give a fuck i don't understand why you would feel the need to write several posts telling us how much you don't give a fuck. If it's a stupid question just don't answer if. If its a really stupid question no one will answer and he will go use the search. No need to jump in and fuck with the guy because he doesn't spend hours a day on here.

What I don't give a fuck about is if you think we're mean. What does annoy me and other users is lazy, whiny, entitled noobs who ask dumb questions and then get mad when they're given a link or told to use the search or mocked for a little lulz.

You all are just annoying, and I'd rather take 2 minutes to tell you to stop than ignore you and have you never figure it out.

Edit: Consider this the end of me caring about trying to help you find your way around here. Enjoy TLS.

LOL at you guys acting like you have to be some sort of TLS expert to use the search function. You don't have to spend hours a day on here to figure this sort of stuff out and scolding those who don't use it or start threads without taking a few reasonable steps helps to discourage laziness. If everyone started a thread asking such a common question TLS would be even more of a clutterfucked mess than it already is. Jesus Christ.

Look man, in all the time you spent telling us how stupid he is for not using search, you could have given him a damn good answer. You are the one who is to lazy to type him a response. You are the one whining that he even asked such a stupid question in the first place. You are the one that seems so entitled you can't have noobs cluttering up your forums with serious questions. I just don't understand the need to come into this thread and be a douche to the guy. Does it really bother you that much that he made a thread asking about the LSAT? Like i said if you want him to search then just don't answer the thread and he will take a hint. If you want him to leave then proceed to be an ass to him. You don't have some right to be a complete asshole to the guy because he does not have 3000 posts or spend half his day on here.

I don't understand why you can't just ignore the guy. The thread dies, you don't have to waste your time posting, and the guy most likely won't make a stupid thread if he sees the last 5 didn't get a single response. Pretty sure that is a much more effective way to promote the search than going into threads berating people for taking up your precious time.

For a bunch of people complaining about wasting time and effort, you're wasting an awful lot of time and effort.

Well, when nobody knows the answer to the question, the former is actually probably more helpful than lsat talk n such. And drunk posts are always more insightful... fact.

Or maybe I realized you were mocking me and then continued to talk like that, knowing it would frustrate you. Pretty sure you just got one upped son.
