Proctored Practice LSATs
I surfed through the Kaplan and Princeton Review websites looking for a list of dates/locations where they offer free diagnostics. I didn't find anything. Does anyone know if/where this information can be found?

A PT costs $8 and you can easily proctor yourself. There's also a free PT on the LSAC website. As long as you're being strict with time, it's probably less hassle to do it yourself.
Also, I think some companies use fake tests for free proctored exams, and save the real ones for paying customers.

I have PTs; I am looking more for the structured atmosphere. I would like to have some feel for what it is like to sit for the test before I take it for real.

If you are currently in UG, your school should offer them for you through Kaplan or other companies, at least mine does.

You can also try the Simugator LSAT Proctor DVD in between free diagnostic sessions.

If you go to a free Kaplan LSAT practice test, is that similar to going to a timeshare meeting? Do they give you the hard sell in exchange for the free gift?
I'd like the experience of taking a proctored exam, but I don't want to be bullied into anything.

It is like a timeshare sales-pitch, but you can just pull the "I'm still undecided card."
Like...Well, I need to see how I do on this test to see if:
a) My diagnostic is so low that I would make a better financier than lawyer.
b) My diagnostic is so high that I would be confident self-preparing

Re: Proctored Practice LSATs
I actually went to three (took their test and brought my own for the other two) and I scored high enough [a whole 167] that the guy was just like "Well, I'd sell this to you, but I don't think I need to"...so there's your solutionG. by the way, as a self-studier, I think going to these the three Saturdays before the Oct test was one of the best decisions I made.
